Our achievements over the years
A concrete impact on the living environment of residents
Thanks to the Foundation, the facilities acquire goods directly related to the well-being of residents each year. In previous years, donations were primarily directed towards the purchase of equipment such as electric beds, hydraulic lifts, adapted showers, and wheelchairs.
In recent years, however, the Foundation has revised its donation policy to prioritize the development of the living environment. The focus is now on acquiring furniture, decoration, and improving common areas, thereby contributing to creating warmer and more humane environments.
Aging with dignity, respect, and well-being is a fundamental right. The Champlain and Manoir-de-Verdun Foundation exists to tangibly improve the quality of life of seniors living in two long-term care centers in Verdun.
Behind every funded project lies a simple but essential intention: to make residents’ daily lives more humane, warmer, and more vibrant.
Investments focused on well-being and the living environment
At the Champlain accommodation center and the Manoir-de-Verdun accommodation center, the allocated funds were notably used for:
- the purchase of furniture and decorative elements for the common areas of each unit;
- the development of places of contemplation;
- the establishment of an Internet café;
- the improvement of reception areas;
- the development of dining rooms and living rooms;
- the purchase of large-format televisions for the units;
- the acquisition of quality audio equipment;
- the development of outdoor terraces and the implementation of landscaping projects in each accommodation center.

Activities that enrich the daily lives of residents
The Foundation also supports numerous recreational activities, themed parties, and outings for residents of both accommodation centers.
These include animal therapy sessions, therapeutic clown visits, percussion workshops, summer evenings on the terraces, and music therapy activities. For palliative care clients, the Foundation also supports bedside concerts and animal therapy sessions.
The Foundation also gives personalized Christmas gifts to each resident and celebrates monthly birthdays with musical performances.
A lasting and constant commitment
For several years, the Fondation Champlain et Manoir-de-Verdun has demonstrated dynamism and commitment in pursuing its philanthropic work. It actively contributes to improving the living environment of residents to make it a more humane, friendly, and stimulating environment.
Thanks to the donations received, many achievements come to fruition and have a direct impact on the quality of life of the residents.
Transparency on the use of donations
The Foundation aims to present clearly and in detail the amounts donated to accommodation centers over the years, thus illustrating the concrete impact of donors’ generosity since 1992.

History of amounts donated
1992–1999 | The first structuring actions
During this foundational period, the Foundation focused its actions on initiatives aimed at improving the daily lives of residents, notably through support for holiday camps and the purchase of Christmas gifts. These initial achievements laid the groundwork for a lasting commitment to the Champlain and Manoir-de-Verdun accommodation centers.
2000–2006 | Increased support for services and equipment
During these years, the funds raised allowed the Foundation to expand its intervention by supporting volunteer action, themed activities, and the acquisition of specialized equipment. This period marks a significant contribution to improving services and adapting facilities to the growing needs of residents.
Since 2006 | Transforming centers into true living environments
As of 2006, the Foundation adopted an approach focused on transforming the institutional setting into a true living environment. Investments were directed towards developing common areas, creating warmer environments, and supporting activities that promote the well-being, stimulation, and dignity of residents. The funds are now distributed equitably according to the needs expressed by each accommodation center.
To date, the Foundation has donated a sum of $1,500,000 to the two accommodation centers and wishes to continue its work.
We cannot overlook the “in memoriam” donations from residents’ families, as well as the legacy donations made to the Foundation, a token of appreciation for the quality of care and services received during the resident’s stay.
